π Help me take this email to the next level
I want to take this newsletter to the next level! This newsletter is the only place you can find insider trades with their historic returns so you know if the insider is worth copying.
If you could help me out by answering a couple of questions below, thatβd be awesome!
This dumb poll doesnβt let me add long enough answers, so read the question and answers below and then make your choice in the poll.
Question 1: How would you prefer this email function?
Option 1 - Weekly email with the ~3 top insider trades of the week (how it currently works)
Option 2 - A daily email with the 5 biggest/best insider trades of the day and the historic returns for those insiders. (This way you would never miss an insider trade, but many of the trades will be from insiders without good historic returns - though they will still have made a big purchase).
Option 3 - I check the insider trades each day and send an email if there are any good ones (would probably end up being 2-3 emails a week).
It does cost me quite a bit of time and money ($3,341 last month according to my credit card bill) to get the data needed to run this email, so I am planning on making a paid tier.
Question 2: Assuming I keep the free, weekly email with the ~3 top insider trades, which of the following would you be willing to pay for?
Option 1 - A daily email with the 5 biggest/best insider trades of the day and the historic returns for those insiders.
Option 2 - I check the insider trades each day and send an email if there are any good ones (would probably end up being 2-3 emails a week).
Option 3 - A document of the biggest winners so that you can study the winners to identify which types of insider trades work the best
Option 4 - Regular case studies of the winning trades
Option 5 - I wouldnβt pay for any of this
Thank you for your help!
Top CEO Trades of the Week
Reminder: you can read about how CEO Watcher works and how we calculate returns and win ratesΒ here
Christopher Rondeau - CEO at Planet Fitness ($PLNT)
His first time buying the stock since he picked up a bunch of it during the COVID dip.
Returns and Win Rate
Overall:Β 14% returns with a 100% win rate (3/3 trades)
1-year: 38% returns with a 100% win rate (3/3 trades)Β
90-day:Β 19% returns with a 100% win rate (3/3 trades)
Purchase Data (this week)
Total Amount Purchased:Β $649,850
Purchase Price:Β $65
Current Price:Β $70.81 (+9%)
Rating
Rating:Β 7
Why:Β The stock fell ~16% after their previous earnings and he bought the dip (still down 12% since earnings). His only previous purchases were three different million-dollar purchases during the COVID dip which he made quite good returns on. This purchase is only about half the size of each of the COVID purchases which keeps this score below 8.
Group Purchase at Gamestop ($GME) - Exec Chairman and 2 Board Members
Gamestop fired its CEO and Ryan Cohen took back over. Ryan also bought $10M of stock and the two directors picked up a couple hundred thousand dollars worth as well.
Purchase Data (this week)
Total Amount Purchased:Β $10,335,900
Purchase Price:Β $22.53
Current Price:Β $24.66 (+9%)
Rating
Rating:Β 6
Why:Β None of the insiders have much purchase history, but Ryan Cohen definitely has a loyal following. Is it possible he can come in and get the stock price moving in the right direction?
Dustin Moskovits - CEO and Founder of Asana ($ASAN)
Picked up his first few million dollars worth of shares since September of last year. His returns are terrible because he was gobbling up shares during 2022 as the stock crashed, but he is the CEO that has bought up the most of his own companyβs shares, so worth following.
Returns and Win Rate
Overall:Β -39% returns with a 7% win rate (2/29 trades)
1-year: -75% returns with a 0% win rate (0/28 trades)Β
90-day:Β -25% returns with a 31% win rate (9/29 trades)
Purchase Data (this week)
Total Amount Purchased:Β $3,623,510
Purchase Price:Β $22.65
Current Price:Β $24.89 (+10%)
Rating
Rating:Β 5
Why:Β This one really comes down to personal preference. His overall returns are terrible, but he has bought over a billion dollars worth of the stock over the last two years as the price continued to fall. Is it possible that the bottom is finally in?

Have a great weekend!
